Week 3 the flowers on tower road green

It's now week three and the flowers are growing so well and are filling up the circular raised beds nicely putting on a fabulous colorful display (See photo update below)

The Epping in bloom team are working together doing a great job to water, feed and dead head all the flowers.We have received lots of wonderful feedback from local passers by which is very heart warming to hear.Some local residents visit the tower road green almost everyday.If you haven't had a chance to visit yet please do and let us know your thoughts.

The Epping in bloom team will be at the Epping town show on Sunday 5th July 12- 5pm stand 23.Come along and meet us and find out more about how you can help us by becoming involved.If you have any idea's for other Epping area's of floral need we would love to hear your idea's too.

2015 is the year of the sunflower

Sunflowers when fully grown will add a dramatic growing vibrant feature to any garden and are very easy to grow.

Would you like to be the winner of the Epping in bloom tallest growing sunflower of Epping competition? Epping in bloom are giving away free sunflower seeds to help Epping residents so we can all join in the fun to celebrate the 2015 year of the sunflower.Collect your free sunflower seeds from Epping hall or the Epping town show stand 23 on July 5th 12-5pm.

Submit a photograph of your growing sunflower before the closing date which is August 31st 2015 to eppinginbloom@gmail.com along with the height of your sunflower.

We are looking forward to seeing your entries.

The water bottle flowers on display in Tesco

Epping in bloom have had a very good support from five local's school's of Epping.

The entries we have received have been fantastic!

The display boards went up in the Tesco store Epping with the permission and full support from the Tesco community champion Katrina.She has supported the Epping in bloom project idea with great enthusiam.The staff at the Tesco store said the display of the children's work each week looks great.Many shoppers have also given such positive feedback saying they never thought they could create something so lovely from an empty water bottle.

Our judge is Councillor Mr Les Burrows he select's the winner and runner up every Monday afternoon.

We have two more display's to follow.St John's school will be on display from Monday 22nd June - 29th June and Epping Primary 29th June - 6th July.If you haven't had a chance to pop in to see the children's wonderful designs please do so before the display is taken down.

All bottle flower designs will be mounted on sticks and planted after display ends on the tower road green.

Before & two growing weeks later

The dahlia's, lavenders and geraniums to name a few are bringing such wonderful vibrant colours and scent to the tower road green.The team of Epping in bloom watering volunteers are working well together to help keep the flowers well hydrated and looking there very best.It lovely to hear such positive comments from local passers by many saying how wonderful it all looks.
The winners of the raised bed competition that represent each of the local Epping schools have been invited to Tower road green to have photographs taken of them with their growing design in a few weeks.
I have attached some photo's that I have taken below so you can see just how much the flowers have grown in the past two weeks.
Our free Epping in bloom sunflower seeds are still avaliable for collection from Epping hall.Pop in and collect yours plant them and watch them grow.Submit a photo along with the height measurement by 31st August.You could be the winner of our tallest Sunflower of Epping competition.
