A team of local volunteers that have come together to help make Epping look blooming marvelous this year.

Aims & objectives of the Epping in bloom group

• Make Epping an even nicer place to live and work
• Nurture the environment
• Create lovely display's of flowers in and around the town center
• Encourage local people and schools to recycle
• Help share gardening education 
• Raise the aspirations of the community 

 

Environmental objectives are to:

• Develop the garden areas in and around the town center
• Bring the community closer together
• Target the planting areas that need a fresh new planting scheme that will create visual impact.
• Set up gardening projects and competitions within schools and for local people
• Increase awareness for wildlife 
• Encourage respect for the local environment
• Reduce litter and waste

Bringing begonia's into the town

 

Begonia's

Begonia's are a perfect choice for some of the planting scheme for Epping in bloom.They will provide the town with long-lasting colour.They are drought tolerant and need very little care.When planted together on mass they will provide eye catching impact.

 

Come to our next meeting

Many idea's were discussed at our first meeting which was held in Epping hall on Thursday 26th March.Many members of the town were present.


Idea's included some of the following:

• Hanging baskets
• Raised formal beds
• Sensory area
• Recycled bottles
• Local schools competitions
• Funky planted shoes
• Competition

Our next meeting is being held on Thursday 16th April at 7.15pm.Please do come along to find out more details.We are open to idea's so please put some of your own idea's forward too.

We are looking for the following:

• More people to help with planting up areas's in the town towards the end of May no experience necessary.
• Schools to encourage children to take part.
• Local people to create funky shoe gardens to display outside there door's
